Meet John

John Kingston was born and raised in Montreal but, like many others, relocated to Toronto several years after the FLQ crisis. He brings a unique perspective to Canada’s political landscape and is a passionate advocate for national unity. He continues to explore the path toward a stronger, more resilient Confederation.
Kingston lives in Toronto with his wife, Lorna, and holds a degree in economics and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He also earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
John’s career spans several industries. He served as CFO for a Canadian software firm and VP Finance for a national advertising agency, before transitioning to a long and successful tenure in the financial services sector—in both Canada and the United States.
During those years, John authored quarterly newsletters exploring political, economic, and market-related developments—always with a focus on the big picture.
His passion for macroeconomics and strategic thinking continues to inform his writing. His first novel, The Level Playing Field, is a political action thriller. John’s latest novel, The True North Talks, blends contemporary political action with deep historical resonance.
